Hi ; I have a quaker parakeet who talks a lot . She has a birdie bath daily in a glass bowl and gets a birdie shower weekly in the bath tub when I clean her cage . I clean her cage and table daily .

I'm on a clay yahoo group and some members have parrots and wanted to know if they can give clay to the parrots ? I said 2% , some think they can give larger amounts . What do you think?

I give my bird fruit ,raw nuts ,(A few), I cook dryed beans ,lentils, spilt peas , kidney beans , pasta , raw veggies salads .
She wants to see what I made when I cook and asks what are you doing ?
She hears me cooking or she smells whats cooking , I don't know which .
I talk to her a lot and she tells me when she wants to go to bed , she'll say night night .
She has afternoon naps and then plays more untilshe
lets me know when she wants the lights out at early evening and if the tv is too high or the radio . She loves playing with the chains of her toys . She has wooden , plastic , large beads , rope and platic keys and rings toys . I'm going to get her a even larger cage after I move into Senior Housing .
She can go out of her cage when I'm home , I only lock it when I go out or if I vac the floors and then I tell her I'm cleaning and she's ok with it .

I think shes a wonderful pet and keeps me company everyday .
